Dame Stoddard – Model 2 5/8" JVH

For your consideration is a Dame Stoddard Co., Boston, Massachusetts 2 5/8" raised pillar fly reel with a nickel silver frame and hard rubber side plates made by Julius Vom Hofe. This is a 2 1/4" diameter reel with a 1 1/16" frame width weighing 5.75 ounces. The release to deactivate the drag works as intended. The wind is fairly neutral allowing for both LHW and RHW. I have read conflicting reports on when the Dame Stoddard Co. name was last used. One suggested the last use was in 1937 and another in 1921.
