Leonard, H.L. – Bi-Metal 2 5/8" 2nd Gen

For your consideration is a very scarce second generation H.L. Leonard Bi-Metal fly reel by Julius Vom Hofe. Marked "H.L. Leonard / Pat. No 191813." Constructed with a bronze frame, reel foot, and handle arm, it features nickel silver cross-pillars and side plates, along with an aluminum spool. Pillar to pillar it measures 2.58". The frame diameter is 2.23". The frame width is 1" with a spool width of 0.75". The tapering of the long hard rubber handle keeps it from feeling too large. Screw-off knurled rear bearing cap. The foot is full length. The riveted click is neutral and can be fished with either hand. This is a rare and desirable classic Leonard Bi-Metal reel.
