Leonard, H.L. – Model 37

For your consideration is an original H.L. Leonard Model 37 bamboo fly rod. This is a 6' 6" 2/2 for a 3 weight line weighing 1.95 ounces. All sections are full-length and straight.

This consists of straw-colored cane with transparent wraps and a handsome swelled butt. The grip measures 4 3/4 inches with cap and ring over the mortised wood spacer. The cap is stamped The Leonard Rod, Leonard Rod Company Makers, Reg. U.S. Pat Off. The tips mic at 0.0485 and 0.0495. The Swiss-style ferrule is size 9 and is accompanied by a machined ferrule plug. In my hand, the action is medium and delightful. This is a pre-fire rod.

This rod comes from an extraordinary collection of Leonard rods and has never been fished.
