Morgan, Tom – 7' 9" 3wt Graphite

  • For your consideration is a difficult to source Tom Morgan Rodsmiths graphite fly rod. This is a 7' 9" two-piece for a 3 weight line weighing 2.50 oz. Serial Number 02-3-18 (February 18, 2002) built during the Tom Morgan era. This is one of the most sought after 3 weight graphite rods ever built.

This rod consists of a burgundy blank with burgundy wraps. The full-wells grip measures 6 1/2" in length with up-locking hardware over a well modeled and mortised wood spacer. The writing on the rod is done in gold which matches the details on the butt cap and rod tube cap. The front and rear cork check is machined from eight-sided stock. In my hand, the action is on the medium side of medium fast and bends deep. This rod shows no signs of use and has been well cared for. Includes the substantial weighing heirloom hex tube and cap with the quilted bag.
