Thomas & Thomas - Caenis

For your consideration is a Thomas & Thomas Caenis bamboo rod - 7’ 6” 2/2 3wt. weighing 3.65 oz. Serial no. 5056. The rod is in excellent condition. All sections are full length and straight.

The Caenis Model is one of the early tapers developed by Tom Dorsey. With very similar characteristics to the much beloved Paradigm, the Caenis is full working, delicate and delightful with a sweet little swelled butt. The swelled butt provides reserve power and strength for larger fish. Unlike other 3 weights, you will not find yourself underpowered.

Darkly flamed bamboo is complemented by translucent and cinnamon edging guide wraps with black tipping at the winding check and tip-tops as well as black wraps at the ferrules. Customary T&T swelled butt. Cap and ring over well modeled, walnut mortised spacer. Well proportioned 5 3/8" grip. The Swiss-style ferrules have a perfect fit. The rod weighs 3.65 oz. In my hand and comparing to other T&T rods, the taper is on the medium side of medium-fast. Original bag with stiffening dowel, brass capped tube, and label.
