Edwards, Gene – 9' 0" De Luxe #53

For your consideration is a Gene Edwards De Luxe #53 bamboo fly rod in original condition. This is a 9' 0" three-piece for a 6-weight line weighing 5.75 ounces.

This rod consists of medium tempered cane with brown wraps tipped red. Half wells grip measures 6.5" in length and is tactile but I would not say it has ridging. Down-locking aluminum hardware over walnut spacer. Ferrules are size 18 and 11. In my hand, the action is on the fast side of medium fast. It appears the wraps have an over varnish to protect the aging silks. All appear to be sound.
