Vardanis/Bacon Blank – 36H

For your consideration is an Alex Vardanis rod built on a Hal Bacon blank. This is a 6' 0" two-piece for a 3 weight line weighing 2.50 ounces. This is based on a Leonard Catskill 36H.

This consists of dark tempered bamboo with three opposed node spacing and warm orange wraps tipped black. Grip measures 4 1/2" in length. When photographing the rod I noticed the grip to be slightly off from being symmetrical – in my right hand the left side of the grip is a little more pronounced.  I would not have noticed just holding the rod. Cap and ring over a beautiful mortised spacer. In my hand, the action is on the medium side of medium fast.
