Leonard, H.L. – 38H

For your consideration is an H.L. Leonard 38H. This is a 7' 0" 2/2 4wt. weighing 2 7/8 oz. (2 3/4 oz. on my scale). All sections are full-length and straight. SN 2241. The tips are a lean 0.0665".

The 38H is considered one of the all-time best dry fly rods. In my hand, the action is medium-fast with a full working taper. Competent attaining a 40' cast and beyond if required. Diminutive cigar grip measuring 5" has some soiling though it is smooth. Nickel silver butt cap and sliding band over butternut wood spacer. Red wraps. Size 11 Swiss-style ferrule with a perfect fit. Original tube and bag with stiffener.
