For your consideration is a seldom seen Thomas & Thomas Midge bamboo fly rod. This is an 8' 2/2 4wt weighing 4.50 oz. Serial #3733. The Midge was only listed as an 8' 4wt in the Thomas & Thomas catalog for a two-year period. Len Codella, a one-time owner of Thomas & Thomas, feels this is the finest dry fly model T&T ever produced. All sections are full length and straight.

The rod consists of their indicative medium tempered cane from the '70s and '80s with transparent wraps and auburn tipping. Glass like varnish finish. A well-proportioned cigar grip measures 5 3/4" in length. Classic cap and ring with some loss to bluing over a beautifully modeled walnut spacer. Ferrule is a size 15 and just shy of setting completely. A cleaning will resolve this. Numbered tips with one and two dots for ease of rotation. The action is on the fast side of medium-fast flexing midway into the butt section. Includes the original labeled bag with dowel stiffener and original rod tube. The rod is in very good condition.
