Payne, E.F. – Model 200

For your consideration is an all original, difficult to source Payne 200. This is an 8’ 0“ three-piece for a 4-weight weighing 3.5 oz. (4.0 oz. with up-locking hardware). All sections are full length and straight. 

This rod features medium tempered cane with Payne dark brown wraps tipped yellow. Up-locking aluminum hardware over walnut spacer. There’s minor soiling to the grip which may have been cleaned at some point. Only slight ridging. Size 14 and 9 ferrules with a perfect fit. In my hand, this rod is on the medium side of medium-fast with a delightful dry fly characteristic along with the buttery smooth aura of all Paynes. Original condition with minor bag burn. This can be fished as is or a mild rubbing compound will smooth it out. Paynes in this good of shape are rare to come by. Original bag and tube.
