Maxwell, Tom – 7' 6" 5wt

This unfished, lawn cast only bamboo rod from Tom Maxwell is a 7’ 6” 2/2 5wt weighing 4.0 oz. All sections are full length and straight.

The transparent bright red silks compliment the rich, deep flaming of the cane. Standing above the offset wraps at the winding check is Maxwell’s ’Top Hat’ casting man. The fly line gracefully wraps around the butt section framing the inscription 7’ 6” 5wt. The well-proportioned cigar grip measures 5” – a trait of Maxwell’s from the early T&T days. Blued cap and ring over a beautifully mortised wood spacer of what appears to be walnut. Swiss-style size 13 ferrules with a perfect fit. In my hand, this rod is on the fast side of medium-fast. Original tube and bag.
