Carpenter, Walt – 6' 6" 4wt. Browntone

  • For your consideration is a Walt Carpenter bamboo fly rod. This is a 6' 6" 2/2 4wt weighing 2.70 oz. Serial number 81666. There is a small sticker on the tube stating it is a 4/5 wt. I would believe the 5wt would work for very close work. All sections are full-length and straight.

This rod consists of Walt Carpenter's 'Browntone' tempering – a rich walnut toning blending into golden-colored nodes. The hard tungsten wire guides are wrapped with a rich mahogany brown, finely tipped with black. The light-toned agate stripper is very desired from this early period. Cigar-style grip tapers to the cork and walnut reel seat. The cork is soiled, but the rod has been cared for. Ferrule fit is perfect. One flat is marked "Made for Ernie Lussier." In my hand, the action is full working and medium-fast. Includes the original bag and tube.

NOTE: The owner of this rod is open to trades even if it requires additional cash be exchanged. Items of interest: Maxwell Leonard 7' 6" 5wt, Leonard Duracane 7' 6" 5wt, Bogdan trout reels in LHW, Rick Robbins 7' 6" or 7' 9" 5wt, Aroner and Taylor rods.
