Dickerson, Lyle - 9015 '49

  • For your consideration is scarce and original Lyle Dickerson model 9015 bamboo fly rod made in 1949. This is a 9' 0" 2/2 5wt / 6wt weighing 5.35 oz. All sections are full length and straight. Bob Summers is a Dickerson enthusiast and he has only had one 9015 pass through his shop.

This rod consists of medium tempered cane constructed in a 3x3 node pattern with Dickerson brown wraps and black tipping. Indicative Dickerson intermediates for measuring your catch at 7”, 8”, 9", and 10” from the tip of cork grip. Soiled grip has close to no signs of ridging and measures 6"–possibly carefully cleaned? Down-locking aluminum hardware over walnut spacer with nickel silver butt cap. Ferrules are size 15 with a perfect fit. Under very close inspection with a loop, there are minor signs of what appears to be bag texture in a couple of places on the varnish. This rod is a mending machine. Includes the original bag and tube.
