For your consideration is a Payne Parabolic taper bamboo rod from ninja builder Mark Edmonds. This is a 7' 9" 3/2 for a 5/6wt, weighing 4.50 oz. All sections are full-length and straight.
This rod consists of medium tempered bamboo with olive green/brown transparent wraps tipped red at the winding check and ferrules. This rod features resorcinol glue lines indicative of some of the pre-WWII makers. The sliding band and cap are over an all cork grip and reel seat that shows minor soiling but remains smooth. Swiss-style ferrules are size 14 and 18 with a perfect fit. In my hand, this rod is full working and has a medium action, and is well suited for a 5 or 6 line. Mark Edmonds sold a few dozen rods through Len Codella in the late '90s but mostly built rods for family and friends. A friend of mine purchased an Edmonds Garrison 204 from Bob Summers. Bob said the taper and resorcinol glue construction felt and looked like an original Garrison. Mark did exceptional work.
