Edwards, Gene – 8' 0" 5wt Autographed Special

For your consideration is a Gene Edwards Autographed Special #63 bamboo fly rod in original condition. This is an 8' 0" three-piece for a 5-weight line (some might like it with a 6-weight) weighing 4.40 oz. All sections are full-length and straight.

This rod consists of medium tempered cane with black wraps tipped pale gold. Grip measures 5.75" in length and displays minor ridging – mostly at the thumb placement. Down-locking aluminum hardware over walnut spacer. Ferrules are size 15 and 10. In my hand, the action is on the fast side of medium fast. There is one wrap (the lower foot of a guide next to the female ferrule on the midsection) where the varnish dried and the edge of the guide has split the silk wraps. There are enough good turns to hold the guide so an over varnish may be an adequate remedy. Includes the original bag and tube.
