Williams, Gary – 36L Fairy Catskill Clone

For your consideration is a Gary Williams bamboo fly rod based on a 36L Fairy Catskill. This is an 6' 0" two-piece for a 1-weight line weighing 2.10 oz. The tips average out to 0.0575. Gary built hand planned rods out of Maryville, TN.

This rod consists of medium tempered cane with cinnamon wraps tipped black at the ferrules and winding check with an agate matching the wraps. The cork grip measures a well proportioned 4 1/2" in length. High end nickel silver components are used for the cap and ring over the mortised wood spacer. In my hand, the action is medium fast. Don't let the price fool you. Gary's work is above reproach.
