Karstetter, Marty – 8' 3" 4wt Hollow-Built

For your consideration is a Marty Karstetter 8' 3" hollow-built fly rod. This is an 8' 3" three-piece for a 4-weight line weighing 3.85 oz. Marty says some have liked it with a 5 line. Serial Number 24921. Marty's rods are well sought after and this one has been lawn cast only.

This rod consists of medium tempered cane constructed in a two opposed node pattern arranged in a spiral. Chestnut brown wraps with a matching color agate stripping guide. The modified full-wells grip measures 5 3/4" in length and has a cap and ring with the cap stamped "Marty Karstetter Maker." The Super Z ferrules are size 13 and 18 with a perfect fit. In my hand, the action is on the fast side of medium fast with feeling throughout the rod. Includes the original tube and bag with snap.
