Leonard, H.L. – 37L 1.75 oz.

For your consideration is an exceptional all-original H.L. Leonard Model 37L "Fairy Catskill" bamboo fly rod. This is a 6' 6" 2/2 for a 2-weight modern line or 3-weight silk line weighing 1.75 ounces. All sections are full-length and straight. 



This consists of Leonard indicative straw colored cane with olive green wraps and a handsome swelled butt. The grip measures a diminutive 4 1/2 inches with a cap and ring over mortised butternut wood spacer. The ring fits snugly. The tips mic at 0.0430 and 0445. The Swiss-style ferrule is size 8. In my hand, the action is medium and is the lightest and most wispy wand I have personally held. This is a post-fire rod with the HLL logo roll stamped on the butt cap. It is sans serial number making this a pre-1969 made rod. This rod comes from an extraordinary collection of Leonard rods and has never been fished.
