Payne, E.F. - Model 100

Available to you is a very difficult to source Payne Model 100 bamboo fly rod. This is a 7' 6" 2/2 for a 4wt, weighing 3.375 oz. Steve Blake masterfully restored the rod's varnish and bluing. It was not indicated if he preserved the original wraps so we are representing this with new wraps. All sections are full length and straight.

This rod features medium tempered cane with Payne dark brown wraps tipped yellow. Payne style cork grip measures 5 3/8". Blued cap and sliding band over Spanish cedar spacer. The original cork grip shows very minimal signs of ridging. Size 11 ferrule with a perfect fit. In my hand, the rod is on the medium side of medium-fast with a wonderful dry fly characteristic. And buttery smooth. The rod has not been fished since the work was completed by Steve Blake. The Payne 100 is frequently listed in revered collections. Original bag and tube.
