Payne, E.F. - Model 198

Available to you is a very difficult to source Payne Model 198 bamboo fly rod. This is a 7' 6" 3/2, weighing 3.35 oz. This rod throws a 4 and 5 weight line equally well taking on a slightly different personality with each. All sections are full length and straight.

This rod features medium tempered cane with Payne dark brown wraps tipped yellow. Blued cap and sliding band over Spanish cedar spacer. Rebuilt by Don Schroeder a few years back. Size 14/64 and 9/64 ferrules with a perfect fit. The rod has a wonderful medium-fast dry fly characteristic but could be used as an all around rod too. Ferrule plugs, original bag and tube.
