Robichaud, D.L. – 2 7/8"

For your consideration is a D.L. Robichaud 2 7/8” trout reel weighing 4.60 ounces. David Robichaud made classic S-style design reels from his shop in Hudson, New Hampshire, until the mid-1990s. His work is well-regarded, and his reels are not often available.

The removable back plate is ingenious—press in on the plate surface and make a slight turn which then releases the pressure on the spring between the front plate and spool. The side plates are free of any blemishes. There is one minor rash on the underside of one rim which can be seen in the two small marks by the counterbalance in the profile phot with the faceplate on the right. The zipper on the case is not engaging so it does not zipper shut. This reel looks almost new with the exception noted.
