Saracione, Joe – No. 2 Deluxe 2 3/4"

For your consideration is a stunning Joe Saracione Deluxe reel engraved by Paolo Barbetti. This is a 2 3/4" diameter reel with a 1 9/16" frame width weighing 4.70 ounces in RHW. This reel shows no signs of use.

Only a hand full of these Saracione reels were produced to accompany a Darryl Whitehead Paolo Barbetti engraved rod making it a matched set. These bench-made reels are made with Delrin side plates and stainless steel side bands, screws, and pillars. The counterbalance, winding-arm washer cup, and handle screw and washer are made of nickel silver. Preset gear and pawl drag design with a soft inbound wind and a more pronounced outbound. The leather case is identical to an Arne Mason case but sans his stamp. This is the only time I have seen one of these available not accompanying the rod.
