Summers, R.W. – Model 856

For your consideration is a R.W. Summers Model 856. This is an 8' 6" two-piece for a 5 or 6-weight line weighing 4.75 ounces. SN 8199. This rod has been fished sparingly or only lawn cast. Original owner. Correspondence with Bob during the transaction conveys with the rod.

This consists of dark flamed cane wrapped with translucent caramel silks tipped black. The reverse half wells 6 3/8" grip is in like new condition. Down-locking aluminum hardware with a nickel silver butt cap stamped "R.W. Summers Co. / Traverse City, MI USA." In my hand, the action is medium-fast. Original bag and tube with ferrule plug tethered to the bag. A like new rod from a builder that is a living legend.
