Vardanis, Alex – 4-Piece 8'0" 6wt, FE Thomas Clone

For your consideration is an Alex Vardanis nodeless bamboo rod based on an F.E. Thomas model from 1935. This is an 8' 0" four-piece for a 6 weight line weighing 4.65 ounces on my scale.

This rod consists of lightly tempered, nodeless cane with burnt orange wraps. The 5 3/4" grip is followed by a well modeled long grain spacer with a nickel silver cap and ring. In my hand, the action is medium-fast. Alex fashioned this after a 1935 4-piece FE Thomas rod he had in hand. A very well made nodeless rod from this London, Ontario builder.
