Hardy – Bougle Agate I

For your consideration is a rather scarce Bougle Agate I fly reel in new condition. These were originally made for the Japanese market in low numbers and are difficult to come by. This is the only Bougle Hardy made with an agate line guard. Both winding plate and spool have the teardrop porting seen on the Bougle lightweight series reels. This Bougle Agate I measures 2 3/4" across the pillars and has a frame diameter of 2 1/2." The reel can be used left or right handed although the line guard accommodates right-hand retrieve only. In a British racing green color with silver spool. Includes original box (the lid was punctured at one point), paperwork, and neoprene bag. Made in Alnwick, England. The Agate I size is the most difficult to find and has followers who believe this is arguably the most beautiful reel Hardy produced.
