Hardy – Perfect Charles Jardine Art

For your consideration is a Hardy Limited Edition Trout Perfect with Charles Jardine art. This is a 3 1/8" diameter reel weighing 5.65 ounces. The Trout Perfects were produced in four designs; the Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Grayling. This is the Brown Trout. Only 150 of each design were produced. This is labeled #141 and the reel is in mint condition.

The artwork is applied directly to the side plate of a classic Hardy 3 1/8 Wide Spool Perfect and is engineered from bar stock aluminum with a naval brass one-piece spindle, stainless steel ball bearings, ivorine handle and a smooth gunmetal grey satin finish. These Trout Perfect reels are rich in Hardy history, complete with the time-proven perfect check system and the classic ‘Perfect’ sound. This beautifully crafted reel is presented in a block leather reel case and features limited-edition packaging. The original slipcase is intact. This includes a handmade screw tool for reel takedown – a very handsome and functional addition.

Charles Jardine is an internationally renowned fly fishing instructor, author and artist. He has been awarded the President’s Pin by the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and also named a Fly Fishing Legend in the USA. In 1891, after three years of development, Hardy launched its first reel and its most famous product to date, the Perfect. One hundred and twenty-eight years later, the addition of Jardine’s artwork to these limited-edition reels makes them highly collectable and sought after.
