For your consideration is an Orvis Bakelite, "Pat-Pend" bamboo fly rod. This is an 8' 0" three-piece for a 5-weight line weighing 4.35 ounces. Serial number 2282 dating this to 1/29/46.

This rod consists of dark impregnated cane with Orvis deep red wraps. The grip measures 6" in length. Down-locking hardware with the ring stamped "Makers Charles F. Orvis Co Inc. Manchester, VT." In my hand, the action is medium fast. The ferrules are sizes 16 and 10 with a perfect fit. The stripping guide was rewrapped professionally matching the wrap colors. Appears a few wraps might have received an over varnish at one point. Includes the original bag and tube.
