Each of these magical wands are unfished and come from one person's extraordinary Leonard collection. The 37L and 37H are post-fire rods with the HLL logo roll stamped on the butt cap and sans serial number making them pre-1967. The 37 is a pre-fire rod.
This is an all original FE Thomas Special, Steamer bamboo fly rod. This is an 8' 6" 3/2 for a 6 or 7 weight, weighing 5.20 ounces. This rod consists of medium tempered cane with dark brown silks tipped with dark red at the ferrules. Hardy-style aluminum downlinking hardware over the wood spacer. The stamp FE Thomas Special, Bangor ME is clean and boldly preserved on the nickel silver butt cap. The bottom of the butt cap is stamped H-70 making this the 70th rod made in 1941.

In all original condition. In my hand, the action is on the fast side of medium-fast with a very decisive dry fly demeanor from the ferrule and above. A great point and shoot taper that is delightful.
